The company’s roots lie in the “POLIN ODONE” single company. It was created on the initiative of its founder in 1965 to manufacture filter cells in air-conditioning systems, though the firm began to operate in the Italian market under the “General Filter” brand only in 1982.
1984 was a crucial year for General Filter as it was the first company in southern Europe to manufacture glass fibre filters with synthetic bags. It was 1986 that marked a U-turn: the company changed its name to the current one, “General Filter Italia S.p.A.”
The constant desire to expand its product range meant that, over the years, the business turned into an increasingly important manufacturing and commercial entity with a growing presence on the market. This desire led to the creation, in 1992, of our Spanish associated company General Filter Iberica S.A., which keeps a close eye on the Iberian peninsula’s market.
From 1995 onwards, a number of works, which are still under way, were planned to develop and automate the manufacturing department in order to increase production and improve quality.
