Fornace De Martino

one family, one furnace, one fire

Ours is a family of artisans from Rufoli di Ogliara, an ancient village of Salerno. In kilns over a thousand years old, we have been producing terracotta since the end of the 1400s, as evidenced by an ancient notary deed preserved in the historic Benedictine Abbey of Cava de’ Tirreni.

We follow every single phase of production, from the extraction of the clay from the local quarry to the handmade decoration up to the installation, and even beyond with a care service to keep the terracotta always at its best over the years.

The high quality and elegance of our products have always been appreciated all over the world by designers and architects such as Chipperfield, Wirtz, Barone, D’Anzuoni, Izzo, Ruspoli & Gaetani, Ives, Zompa, and artists such as De Mas, Lista, Marano, Sigal, and many others.

Thanks to its always being tailor-made, fascinating, and discreet at the same time, our terracotta today is the background of dream locations such as the Doria Pamphilj Gallery in Rome, the Convent of San Martino in Naples, a national monument and museum, the ancient Villa Cimbrone in Ravello, the Boutique Bryant Park Hotel in Manhattan, the Hotel Puerta America in Madrid, Le Sirenuse, the San Pietro or Palazzo di Murat in Positano, Hotel Luna Convento in Amalfi, the Torre del Saracino restaurant in Vico Equense, 2 Michelin stars including noble palaces in Italy and Europe, elegant villas around the world, institutional structures such as the Palazzo di Giustizia of Salerno.
